Sunshine Educational Group (M) Sdn. Bhd. Leads the Way with Cage-Free Egg Commitment
Kuala Lumpur, 20 August 2025 – Sunshine Educational Group (M) Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia’s first Futurpreneurial Preschool brand, has announced a bold step toward ethical sourcing, environmental sustainability, and animal welfare by committing to serve only cage-free eggs and egg products across all its owned and franchised centres by 2028.

Sunshine Kids, under Sunshine Educational Group, is the first preschool in Malaysia to collaborate on such an animal welfare initiative - pioneering the integration of compassion, sustainability, and humanity into early childhood education. This groundbreaking step ensures that values like kindness and responsibility are instilled from the earliest age, shaping children who will carry them for life.

The Pledge
By 2028, 100% of the eggs served in all Sunshine Educational Group (M) Sdn. Bhd. meals will come exclusively from cage-free systems. The transition will begin in 2026, with a gradual shift working closely with catering partners and egg suppliers to ensure a smooth, transparent, and traceable changeover.
Dr. Saravanakumar S. Pillai, Senior Principal, Policy and Engagement for Farm Animal Welfare at Humane World for Animals and Adviser to the Malaysia Cage-Free Egg Producer’s Organisation (MCFEPO), said:

This commitment supports:
- Farming practices that allow hens to express natural behaviours such as nesting, perching, foraging, and dust-bathing.

The Group will monitor and report progress annually to maintain accountability and transparency.
