MCFEPO Congratulates ACFEAA Protem Committee on the Successful Launch of the Asia Cage-Free Egg Association Alliance and Official Website

The Malaysia Cage-Free Egg Producers Organisation (MCFEPO) proudly extends its warmest congratulations to the Protem Committee of the Asia Cage-Free Egg Association Alliance (ACFEAA) on the successful launch of its official website, now live at www.asiacagefreealliance.org. This significant milestone marks the formal establishment of a powerful regional coalition committed to promoting better welfare, sustainable, and transparent egg production across Asia.
The Asia Cage-Free Egg Association Alliance, unites national leaders and institutions dedicated to cage-free transition, including the Malaysia Cage-Free Egg Producers Organisation (MCFEPO), the Cage-Free & Free-Range Poultry Producers Association (CFFRPPA) in India, and the Indonesia Cage-Free Association (ICFA). This alliance represents a visionary step forward in aligning Asia’s efforts toward higher animal welfare standards and ethical food sourcing, especially as cage-free commitments from corporate stakeholders approach their 2025 deadlines.
Dr. Saravanakumar S. Pillai, Senior Adviser for Farm Animal Welfare, Policy and Engagement at Humane World for Animals and Adviser to MCFEPO, praised the launch by stating, “The establishment of ACFEAA and its online platform is not just a symbolic milestone, it is a practical tool that will help drive producer empowerment, facilitate government and corporate engagement, and enable the region to collectively raise the bar for animal welfare. Asia now has a common space where local expertise, regional solidarity, and global ambition meet.” He added that, “We are proud to support this unified effort. The alliance will ensure no Asia countries is left behind as we transition to better welfare food production system.”
MCFEPO, as one of the founding members of ACFEAA, welcomes this achievement as a signal of growing momentum for cage-free egg production across Malaysia and the broader region.
Spokesperson for MCFEPO stated, “This launch reflects the shared values and growing collaboration among Asia’s leading cage-free advocates. With Malaysia already making strong progress in producer readiness and retail partnerships, we believe the ACFEAA platform will be instrumental in accelerating adoption, showcasing success stories, and bridging gaps in technical knowledge and implementation capacity.” The spokesperson further emphasized that, “We invite all stakeholders,retailers, food manufacturers, hospitality groups, and policymakers to engage with the alliance, explore the new website, and take active steps toward making cage-free sourcing a reality.”
The website will serve as a central hub for sharing regional updates, providing technical resources for producers, offering policy guidance, and hosting webinars and trainings aimed at facilitating the cage-free transition in Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and beyond. It will also document progress made by key industry players, support producer certification journeys, and highlight country specific insights and solutions.
MCFEPO applauds the leadership and dedication of the ACFEAA Protem Committee in bringing this alliance to life and looks forward to deepening regional cooperation in the months ahead. As the movement continues to expand, MCFEPO remains committed to supporting all efforts that promote responsible sourcing, food security, and animal welfare in alignment with global ESG goals.
