Date: 31 May 2025

The Malaysia Cage-Free Egg Producers’ Cooperative (MCFEPCooperative) and Humane World for Animals extend our sincere and heartfelt congratulations to Mr Khoo Hock Aun, on his recent election to the Assembly of Delegates of the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), the organisation’s highest decision-making body. This significant appointment reflects Mr Khoo’s decades of pioneering contributions to sustainable development, ecological ethics, and inclusive social transformation across the region. His election holds particular significance as one of the Founding Members and former Vice-Chair of the RSB, during its formative years when it was first established as the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels in the Canton of Geneva. Since then, RSB has expanded its scope to include biomaterials and sustainable aviation fuels, with growing impact across the Asia-Pacific region.

Throughout his multifaceted career, Mr Khoo has consistently bridged the divide between environmental stewardship and social empowerment—initially through his work in sustainable biofuel feedstock production and project development, and more recently as an active voice in Chamber 3, focusing on education, mindset change, and community development. His vision has always centered on advancing a more inclusive, equitable, and planet-centric future.

As the global sustainability landscape becomes increasingly complex marked by widening inequality, constrained choices for the vulnerable, and growing resistance from vested interests—Mr Khoo’s leadership at the RSB Assembly will bring much-needed clarity and resolve. His long-standing advocacy for ethical, viable, and participatory models of sustainability is not only timely but essential.

We at MCFEPCooperative are honoured to have Mr Khoo serve as our Senior Adviser, where he is playing a pivotal role in guiding our national movement toward humane, cage-free egg production and sustainable food systems. His election to the Assembly of Delegates not only recognises his global stature, but also elevates the values and priorities we collectively strive to advance particularly in making sustainability accessible and just for all.

We wish Mr Khoo every success in this important global role. His presence at the Assembly is certain to amplify Asia’s voice in shaping the bio-based future, rooted in integrity, courage, and compassion.
